Local brewers weathering a storm in the craft beer industry

A pioneering Burnaby brewer says his industry may have finally “turned the corner” after its initial boom followed by years of tumult.

A relative newcomer to Port Coquitlam’s craft beer scene is banking on it, while another says if he knew what was to come back when he got into the business, he’d have kept his day job.

The past six years haven’t gone down smoothly for local craft breweries. 

Even as some won industry awards and Port Moody’s Brewers Row along Murray Street became an internationally renowned destination, others closed, consolidated, or changed ownership.
